Writer in Residence at Wallace Stegner House, Aug-Sept 2024

I am currently on a month-long residency at Wallace Stegner House in Eastend, Saskatchewan. I am here to trace my grandfather’s 5 year sojourn in Western Canada. He arrived in Eastend, age 26 in Sept 1922 intending to begin a new life farming on the Canadian prairies.

New publication: Solar Power: Art and Design, Routledge, 2021.

Alex Nathanson’s new book A History of Solar Power Art and Design will be available from the end of July. Published by Routledge as part of their “Advances in Art and Visual Studies”, the chapter on installations includes a comprehensive section on my renewable energy work from 1994 onwards.
